Looking Ahead

On Sunday November 19 we will have our annual meeting of the parish at 8:30 am. All members are encouraged to attend. After completing our corporate business we will turn our attention to worshipping the Lord at 10:00 am.

Thanksgiving is coming up on Thursday November 23. We will celebrate the Eucharist on that day at 10:00 am.

We are rapidly coming to the end of our post-Trinity season. Advent begins in early December. Advent is a season where we get ready to welcome the Christ whose birth we celebrate on Christmas.

If you feel overwhelmed now or during the coming holiday season, take comfort in God’s care for us. You are not alone. Here is a bit from Psalm 40:

Withdraw not your mercy from me, O Lᴏʀᴅ; let your loving-kindness and your truth always preserve me.

For innumerable troubles have encompassed me; my sins have taken such hold of me that I am not able to look up;

indeed, they are more in number than the hairs of my head, and my heart has utterly failed me.

O Lᴏʀᴅ, let it be your pleasure to deliver me; make haste, O Lᴏʀᴅ, to help me.

Let this passage be a blessing to you.
