Nigerian Sunday Celebration

Annual Nigerian Sunday – July 29, 2012

 All are invited to join St. Barnabas Anglican Church in this special service and celebration of one faith, one baptism, and one Lord. Music will feature favorite hymns from the Anglican Church of Nigeria. These hymns will be sung in the Igbo language. Nigerian choristers will sing choruses of praise, accompanied by standing drums and other rhythm instruments. Music, dancing, and polyphonic rhythms will give praise to the Lord of all peoples and nations. There will be a time of prayer for the nation of Nigeria and all of its people living in many countries. Preservice music begins at 10:15am and moves into a service of God’s Word and the Sacrament of Holy communion. Our guest preacher will be the Revd. Godson Ofoegbu. The Rt. Revd. Kevin Bond-Allen will celebrate the Eucharist. After the service there will be an extended time of Fellowship. Authentic Nigerian cuisine will be featured.
